Scumbag Joe
This project served as the launchpad for my professional career in the gaming industry. While I had participated in multiple projects previously, this was the first game where I assumed the roles of writer, director, and developer, backed by a globally dispersed team of gifted creatives and engineers. This experience laid the foundation for an enduring collaboration with my creative partner at that time, Mikel Fick.
Being ardent admirers of LucasArts' point-and-click adventure games, we felt inspired to create our own. All visuals were meticulously hand-drawn, and animation was primarily influenced by traditional cel animation techniques.
The game unfolds the tale of Joe, a man pressured by real estate tycoon Otto Bay to relinquish his treasured Crow Bar. Defiant in his refusal, Joe becomes the lone obstruction to Otto's plans of erecting a massive chemical plant, thereby setting the stage for a rapidly escalating conflict.
